“Oh, great,” says Peter with numb horror, narrowly resisting the urge to ask which ones.
“Would you leave him be?” a voice echoes from up the stairs, and Peter has perhaps never been gladder to see Beatrice in all his life, including that time she’d come to his party dressed as a princess and he’d convinced himself it meant something and that other time she’d visited Wellington and he’d convinced himself it would fix everything. Bea has never been the harbinger of anything fundamentally bad, but she’s never been the harbinger of what he expected either.

Her eyebrows nearly reach her hairline. “Because I’ve seen Series Five? Amy and Rory? I know what happened the last time a couple traveled with the Doctor, and I couldn’t stand it, Ben."
Back in Auckland together again after the events of Lovely Little Losers, Bea and Ben revisit an old conversation about traveling with their favorite Time Lord. This time, Bea has other ideas.

Plus, Damian hadn’t ended up being enough of a roadblock, and Balth had gone and done what he did on New Year’s. Pedro might have been able to misconstrue An Ode, but Peter couldn’t possibly do the same for a sloppy drunken makeout. Could he? Maybe he could, actually.
Well, and Balthazar had no choice but to find out. He was newly single, with all of the extremely anxiety-provoking freedom that came along with that, and he was about to be sharing a couch and a fridge and, for god’s sake, a shower with his long-time crush. There was no getting around either of those facts.
