Mikie found herself looking up at her ceiling, the spots barely illuminated by her bedside lamp. The sun was down now, Willow should be over this already. Things were going so good with the band, they’d survived so many ups and downs – they were doing everything they could have ever wanted to as a band. Why didn’t it feel like they were succeeding? Why didn’t it feel like they were as happy as they should be?
“Mikie?” Sisky’s voice cuts through the silence, sweet and girlish. “I’m sure she’s gonna answer soon. You know how she is.”
“She’s the most difficult human being on earth,” Mikie agreed, letting out a laugh – not because it was funny, but because she was nervous, and she didn’t know how else to expel the feeling. “I wish she would just answer my calls already. Or yours. Something.”

[DISCONTINUED] California, 2019. BL/ind has been ruling for nearly 40 years, fooling the innocent and shunning the ones with their eyes open. The original five Killjoys have either retired, died, or disappeared without a trace, leaving their children- and the handful of recruits they gathered over the years- to carry on the fight against Better Living Industries. In their place rose a gang dubbed the Fabulous Four- Party Poison, Fun Ghoul, Jet Star, and Kobra Kid. Once Dr. Death Defying announces the death of Jet Star and Kobra Kid to the world, Toxic Torrent and American Psycho run into the two "dead" killjoys out on Route Guano, and from there their lives are even more chaotic than before. Secrets are uncovered, BL/ind employees turn on their own company, kids who are barely past 14 and have no idea how to survive in the Zones run away from home after their parents were murdered, and the two childhood friends suddenly don't know which way is up. Throughout all of this, Better Living Industries is left vulnerable and weak. Can they finally accomplish what those before them worked so hard- and failed- to do?
