There were three things Hitoshi Shinso knew before he joined Class 1-A:
1. He had no intention of making friends when he transferred to the hero course (or anything more than that for the matter).
2. He was prepared to adamantly refuse any attempts to form bonds and relationships, to remain stoic and silent in spite of their persistent ways.
3. He was firmly under the assumption that he was 100% straight before he stepped into that classroom.
Now let two more things be known:
He was not at all prepared for the resident sunshine incarnate of Class 1-A to smile at him when he walked in on a Monday morning.
Hitoshi Shinsou had one thought when he saw Denki Kaminari.

"You have hanahaki?!" Ochako screeches, and Izuku is suddenly very, very glad most of the dorm is out tonight—it's just him, Ochako, Tenya, and Shouto sprawled over the couch, and Katsuki studying in the kitchen. "What the hell?! How long?!"
"Um." Izuku thinks for a minute before leaning over the back of the couch. "Hey, Kacchan! Was it your sixth birthday or seventh when I started coughing up flowers?"
"It was my eighth, nerd," Katsuki calls back, not even looking up from his homework. "We went camping that year."
He snickers before adding, "Auntie thought you'd eaten the poison ivy."
Izuku turns back to the wide-eyed looks of shock on his friends' faces.
"Ten years, then," he tells them casually. "Wow, that's such a long time. A whole decade! Time sure does fly."
