Or, Diluc returns after four long and painful years for Kaeya, where he suffered permanent injuries that left him marked forever. Will they be able to talk and return to what they were before that fateful fight or will they have to follow different paths and have separate lives?
They still have a long road to healing. They just need to find a way to avoid tripping over the stones on the floor.

"Do what? Acknowledge that I care, that I'm concerned for you? Admit that I want to assist you?" Diluc's voice edged with frustration. "Act like a big brother who's here to support and—"
"Stop it, Diluc, you're not helping!"
"Then help me help you, Kaeya, because I genuinely don't know what's troubling you!"

Or; Kaeya knew it was the time of year where he always gets terribly sick no matter what, but he continued with his day and working as he always did. At the end of the day, the pain and fatigue caught up with him, and despite everything, he tried to continue ignoring it.
What will Diluc do to make Kaeya take a break and take care of himself?

"Your destiny was to remain the cavalry captain, a younger brother to Diluc and an older brother to Klee. A friend to Jean and her right hand man, a co-worker and childhood friend.." Up to this point holding back tears became almost impossible for him. "But above all, your destiny was to stay here in Mondstadt. With me." The pain in his voice was too much for Kaeya to bear, his face contracted in sadness as he listened to the anguished words of Albedo who slowly felt tears in his clear eyes. "It's selfish of me, isn't it?"

Kaeya is found by Jean in a storm right at the entrance to Mondstadt, looking dazed and with open wounds all over his body.
She knew what happened; Master Crepus passed away a few hours ago. She was expecting Kaeya to look devastated due to his loss, but she was wrong.
Kaeya looked worse than devastated. Burns covered him, his mind seemed distant, and his entire body trembled, wearing a look of complete loss. Instantly, Jean felt a deep concern for her childhood friend, determined to do whatever it takes to bring Kaeya back to the bright, happy teenager he used to be before the disaster.
