Summary
Of course Date had noticed right away when Ryuki started coming in to work late with bags under his eyes. Unsure of how to reassure him without admitting that he's been obsessed with a dating sim in front of all their coworkers, Ryuki invites Date over to try and share the wonders of romance games. Nothing about this could possibly be awkward, especially not Date's immediate interest in the character with a love of detective novels.

While at a beach resort for his brother's wedding, Ryuki spends an evening walking on the beach and trying to think about anything other than being single. A stranger who is way too much his type to be fair makes for a surprising but welcome distraction, and a good chance to try his brother's advice about going with the flow and putting himself out there.

Summary
Date smiled, satisfied and reached a hand out, palm-up, across the table. After staring for a few moments, Ryuki took a deep breath to try and calm his thoughts. Right, this isn’t anything crazy, he told himself, laying his hand over Date’s and trying to will the blush from his cheeks.
“Not so bad, right?” To avoid saying something embarrassing, Ryuki just shook his head. “See, if we just do stuff like this, we’ll get your tolerance up.”
Tolerance, Ryuki thought bitterly, Because I definitely just want to ‘tolerate’ holding hands with him.
Ryuki doesn't know how to handle reconnecting with a classmate and impulsively exaggerates his relationship with Date. Date does his best to help make the lie convincing!

“Mr. Date,” he sighed again and this time it sounded different. Conscious, relieved, trusting. “Something is, w-wrong, I can’t – god.”
“Okay.” His mouth was dry and fuzzy and this was definitely not okay but he repeated the word anyways. “Okay, what happened? Did you touch anything, did someone – uhh,” Date realized he should maybe try to not stare at Ryuki’s dick for this conversation. Fuck, this was impossible, how was he supposed to figure out whatever freaky plant science was in play when Ryuki looked like he’d die if someone didn’t make even more of a mess of him in the next two minutes?
Exactly what it says on the tin. Because ABIS would send them somewhere with sex pollen alone in the middle of the night.

Summary
Maybe he should have come clean about being an omega when he joined ABIS. Maybe then he wouldn’t have been here, a thin sheen of sweat breaking out on his arms and forehead, pleasant haze fading into something needier while Date worked on the paperwork they were here to finish.
Upon later reflection, Ryuki remembered that Pewter had told him his heat would be a week early.

Summary
Rei doesn't speak for a moment, and Kaoru waits for him. He's patient and genuine, and achingly human. It dawns on Rei, all at once, that he doesn't want to be separate from someone like Kaoru. He reminds him that he wants to find a place on earth. He looks at Kaoru's eyes, glistening with half-shed tears, reflecting the dim streetlights, painting them gold, and knows there's nothing he wants more badly than to be by his side.

Travelling alone together makes Rei reassess his relationship with Kaoru. Rei realises he ought to try to be happy.

“Of course it’s our business,” Hiyori says plainly. “Tatsumi-kun is our friend. And besides, this doesn’t just affect him. If Tatsumi-kun thinks he’s going to Hell, or some such dreary place, then what hope is there for the rest of us? We’re not as virtuous as he is, so that would surely mean we’re going someplace worse than Hell. And that doesn’t please me one bit, so we’d better do our best to convince him otherwise!”
Jun sits and stares. Hiyori frowns. “What’s that look for?”
“Nothing.” Jun and shakes his head to himself. “I’m just amazed you managed to make this about you, somehow.”
“The very fate of our souls rests on this,” Hiyori insists. “Your soul, my soul, and Tatsumi-kun’s soul. So that’s why we’re throwing him a Repayment Festival.”
(In which Jun uncovers a sad truth about Tatsumi, and Hiyori decides the best way to help a mutual friend is through song.)

The sun was setting, hovering just behind the gray-green steeple. The church and the surrounding atmosphere gave off a peaceful, calming aura.
HiMERU couldn’t help but smile bitterly at the thought. He knew he was the last person that should find solace in a church.
"HiMERU-san?" someone called.
It made no sense to hear his own name in this place. For a moment HiMERU thought he must have imagined it. Then he turned to look in the direction of the voice. There was a man standing at the top of the hill.
