A depressing piece, in my opinion. It hurts to read, but not because of gruesome cruelty and unnecessary drama.
I suppose this feels like a water basin tipping over your head, the temperature - be it hot or cold - akin to reality washing over you.
It reminds me of a time when I was also strict, restrained, and quiet some period in my youth, but not to this purposeful extent. It was accidental, caused by tension within my environment.
This was a brilliant read from the impactful first chapter alone until the sixth, not even completed around this time.
I say it is refreshing and almost like a study on the rigidity of traditions and particularly, Japanese culture. Many a story here is indulgent, I feel. Not that I am complaining about each unique interpretation though.
It's just... a good reminder that fictitious characters like Naoya and those in the Zenin Clan would be harder to face in real life, if it were us interacting with them.

It was heartbreaking, but familiar to me. How isolated the lead must be feeling in chapters to come once they learn there is ultimately a different life they may have had lived. I am a bit worried when our Y/N will lose control or grip of themselves, if you ever will write them unraveling.
