My skin felt like it was searing. The heat sunk deep into my body, burning through muscle and sinew. The scorched ground dug into my knees, grinding into the burnt skin. The pain was ineffable, all consuming and mind numbing. It hurt so bad that it felt as though I wasn’t in pain at all, like staying in the cold so long that it feels hot. But there was no cold here, and there never would be again.

Leo blinked at the weird accusation, "Wha? Oh, Dee, I told you to throw that thing out."
"Yeah! You did!" Donnie bit out.
"Donnie," Raph started to move forward, "What's-"
"So, then, who are you?" Donnie snarled.
Leo smiled, "I'm Leo."
"Which. Part." Donnie began, stomping towards him until Mikey jumped in the way.
Or, Leo gets struck by a mystic beam that splits him into five parts of himself; literally.
And they don't seem interested in coming back together

all that is in my brain rn is incoherent screeching. this is the best character study i’ve ever read. there’s so much depth. so many layers. so much love.
the plot twists are brutal; every single one feels like a bullet train to the face. maybe it’s just the horrible sleep deprivation i’m currently experiencing, but it felt like the author had an iron collar around my throat, and they were just yanking me in every direction w/ no regard for my ability to breathe.
(i loved every second of it.)
everything built up so slowly and yet so quickly. it all swirled into a perfect creciendo, screaming along into a fucking hurricane. one second you’re having fun imagining interactions between different aspects of leo’s personality and the next you’re being mercilessly water boarded w/ the meaning of life and family and relationships and pain.
leo here is so painfully human and so, so violently hurt. he’s doing everything to keep himself together, and there his brothers go; busting through every wall, tearing down every painstakingly placed brick like it’s the last thing they’ll ever do.
it’s almost like he hates them for it. hates that they want to help, hates that they can’t leave well enough alone, hates them, the world, for pushing him this far. he treats them like— well, kinda like shit.
but they forgive him. because they know he’s hurting, because they know he doesn’t mean to, because they know he can be better. they hold their anger because they know it’s not the time for it.
and isn’t that what love is? caring about someone so much that you’d put aside your own grievances, your own pain, just to help them? seeing them, not as what you want them to be, but instead as they are and loving them anyway. being okay with this because you know there’ll be time for your hurt, there’ll be time for your grief and anger later. because you know they love you just as fiercely as you love them.
this fic broke me like a fucking horse. broke me into a million pieces. and then fucking put me back together again. kitsungi.
i congratulate you, dear author.
you managed to get me to ramble about the nature of relationships and the inevitability of the tug-of-war that is love and pain; comfort and sacrifice. no other fic— no, no other piece of media, has ever gotten me this worked up.
10/10 fic. licked up every crumb and then ate the whole plate. i can still feel the cuts on my tongue from the shattered porcelain.

Summary
A mission goes wrong and both Soap and Ghost are left wounded. Back home, on his sick-leave, Soap's apartment gets broken into by the very men they were supposed to capture that day. Captain Price sends him a location for a place that should be safe. Soap didn't expect to see Ghost in the doorway when he gets there, bare-footed, in comfortable clothes and his worn-out balaclava.
