The fic follows the failed Jeju Island raid.
Jong-In decides the best way to deal with his failure is to burry himself in work. He knows what people call him, he's the strongest hunter alive, and he has to live up to it.
It's not like he lost a limb like so many others, or a best friend, or even his life like many hunters that followed him into that hell hole.
If the others need time to process, that's fine. Jong-In will support them, he'll stick to working until he passes out, waked up (from a nightmare) and then working again.
Seems like a solid plan.
If only Baek Yoon-Ho would stop pestering him.
Or
AU in which every pair of soulmates have a link that's activated upon contact. Jong-In and Yoon-Ho have only ever used it to squabble and give each other headaches.

Based on heavy demand of seeing Yoon-Ho's side of the story and how he knew Jong-In was his soulmate all along.Baek Yoon-Ho doesn’t get the hype around soulmates.
While yes, he understands the whole romantic aspect of it, knowing that your soulmate was chosen by destiny or whatever.
Still. The hype is practically an unchecked obsession that people need to get over. You CAN fall in love with someone without having to taste their shitty drink.Or, Baek doesn't care about soulmates, if he's going to spend his life with anyone it will be for love.
If that 'anyone' happens to be a very specific 'someone' with eyes of fire than it's his business only.Series
