Summary
Tom Marvolo Riddle spent the summer of 1941 hiding in the Underground while he heard London fall to the bombs. And he had been completely helpless without his magic. He knew the Ministry made exceptions for underage magic in life threatening scenarios, but Tom could taste the wards that surrounded Wool’s. Professor fucking Dumbledore had cast them after his first year to “protect” the Muggles from him. He knew that he would get instantly expelled by the Deputy Headmaster and have his wand taken and snapped if it sensed any magic, accidental or life saving or not.
So in one life, he pursued the methods of immortality above all else after his hellish summer where he nearly died to the German bombs so many times. In one life, he stayed at that orphanage until he graduated.
In this life, Mrs. Cole had kicked him out and he needed somewhere to live. In this life, Abraxas just told Tom that was a Gaunt. He knew he had an Uncle that was criminally insane, but if he found a way to cast magic over the summer, could just avoid the Trace, he could Imperio the man into taking him in.
In this life, Tom did not know that he had a Cousin.
(And that his Cousin was Hot and Very Fuckable.)

The Asset had breathed reconnaissance and intelligence-gathering long before it had become the Fist of Hydra. Before the Winter Soldier had been Hydra’s attack dog, it had been Призрак, the Ghost of Russia.
When given an inkling of choice, the Asset would always choose subtlety.

This is sheer escapist fantasy with no redeeming qualities whatsoever, unless Harry teasing Voldemort to distraction is some twisted form of redemption. Suffer, Voldemort. Suffer.
