Summary
"Grantaire paces in front of the car to distract himself from his growing feeling of nausea, and the unbearable heat of the summer day. He’d sit inside to calm his nerves, but Enjolras has the keys, and he is stuck somewhere on the Metro because of delays—or so he texted Grantaire. For all Grantaire knows, Enjolras might have just used it as an excuse to avoid him as much as possible. But the reasonable part of Grantaire’s brain —it’s small, granted, but it surprisingly exists— reminds him that this isn’t Enjolras’ brand. Enjolras doesn’t ignore problems. He fucks them into leaving him alone, apparently, and only shoots short, perfunctory texts for the following weeks to make sure that their carpooling plans still stand."
After spending what Grantaire believes to be their first and last night together, Grantaire and Enjolras have to carpool together for a few hours. The tension comes to a head with unexpected outcomes.

"Eponine had expected quite a few things from the stupid Les Amis de l’ABC meetings Marius had dragged him to. She had expected white saviour complex bullshit, a ‘Best People of the Year’ wank fest, personal heartbreak as she watched her best friend (her only friend) and years-long crush (way too many years) find much better friends than her, complete and utter boredom, and finally, she’d expected never to set foot there again. Just once, to make Marius happy and to be able to tell him that no, this was decidedly not her scene.
There were, however, several neat things which Eponine hadn’t expected. Making good friends, enjoying having a goal to work for (though she’d never admit that), and the most important one: being understood. Feuilly, specifically, and the likeness of their life experiences, had been a surprise. A good one." -

"Confusion was hardly a new feeling for Grantaire, but this time, Grantaire thought that he might have encountered the world’s greatest mystery. ‘World’ was a bit of a stretch, at the very least, but considering that Grantaire had let his own world revolve around Enjolras for long enough that he couldn’t remember it ever being heliocentric in the first place, it felt accurate enough. And that was it. The mystery. Enjolras. Namely, Enjolras’ recent change in behaviour."
Grantaire sucks at research. Enjolras wasn't researching, but he has the insight of a snail.

What sort of genius does one have to be to come up with something like that? Not a dating app, but a date crashing app. Grantaire is dying to use it himself. He wants to see what sort of crazy excuse his date crasher will use, he wants absurd, he wants drama."
The five times Grantaire uses Hinder to crash his date, and the one time he doesn't.
