Summary
Have you ever felt like you wanted to change the story, just a lil’ bit? Just make the horror movie characters slightly less stupid? Well, boy do I have an offer for you. This is basically a home-made, non-programming (because I don't know shit about computers) modification to the game.

Summary
Being trapped within the undefined space between something and nothing was every bit as uncomfortable as one would expect; rather comparable to being squeezed into a cramped coffin and casting Reduce on the planks. All in all, not one of Gale’s favourite experiences. Nevertheless, he does think that it holds up as only the second worst of the day; an illithid parasite crawling up his optical nerve is a tough one to rival. Although, should he not find his way out of his more pressing predicament, he thinks that netherese combustion in limbo might be a valiant contender. He’ll have to offer his thanks to Lady Luck Tymora for it even being a predicament at all; as much as he would like to attribute his continued survival to his unrivaled wizardry, he feels obliged to recognize that it was truly nothing but good fortune that allowed him to keep the gateway to the material plane open and suppling him with enough air to survive, albeit unpleasantly.

Summary
Steve should have stopped it.
He should have called Tommy and Carol out on their bullshit; he should have called them out and left. But he stayed. He sat at the table while they talked, and he stood with them in the corridors, and he went to their parties, and he covered for them when they did stupid shit.
In turn they'd cover for him. And they'd set him up with some girl, dare him to hook up with her. And then, once Steve moved on, Carol would tell everyone what a slut she was. That was the deal.
Steve acted as the pretty boy that Tommy and Carol could use to make people believe them, because that made them Steve Harrington's side, because people would much rather side with Steve Harrington, the king of Hawkins High, than whatever outcast his friends chose to target.

Summary
Going places, as it turns out, takes longer time when you have no idea where the fuck you’re headed. It takes an especially long time when you have no idea where the fuck you are.
The last building they passed was a solid half-hour ago, when they drove through the quiet little town of North Kill, inhabited exclusively by people over the age of fifty, and visited only by relatives and hikers who took a wrong turn. And camp counselors looking to buy a map, apparently.
So here they are, no service, driving through the woods on the disused single-track road going from North Kill to Central Nowhere, blasting Ariana Grande on the radio because that’s the only channel that doesn’t play ‘The best of Static’ this far out.
On a normal day, on a normal road, and with a normal amount of sleep, Laura wouldn’t mind. But it’s midnight, in the middle of the woods, where the road has so little maintenance it may as well be terrain, and she woke up at an ungodly hour of the morning to guide her boyfriend on the roads across two states.- Language:

Summary
"Shit," he says. Small trembles clings to Eddie's fingers, lingering there, ever-shaking, as if the earthquake that tore through Hawkins continues on through him. "How do you do it, man?" his voice shakes.
"I slept with the nailed bat and the light in my bedroom and hallway on for months, before I was able to get through a night without reaching for a weapon at least once," he says. "When I was finally able to sleep without the bat by my bedside, I kept it in the trunk of my car. I literally couldn't go anywhere without it," he says everything in a steady voice, but his expression is haunted. "I still can't sleep with the light off, and I jump when the electricity blips and the lights flicker."Turning his head, Steve looks at Eddie and meets his eyes. A small smile quirks crookedly from his lips. "What I mean to say is, I don't."
In the days after their battle against Vecna, Eddie slowly comes to terms with everything that's happened and finds a deeper bond with Hawkins resident monster hunters than he ever expected to find. And maybe, just maybe, he can find his way back to shore.

Summary
(The end is never the end. There's too much blood on too many hands and too many unhappy endings. Six years is a long wait for a grieving mother and a damning curse. It's time for more desperate measures. Perhaps resourcing one of the counselors - as she had watched so many do before - will prove benign. Looks like it's time to save the sole survivor.)
Dylan wakes up in a blind panic, kicking out and falling backward off of the log bench he's sitting on. Maybe it's a bit dramatic, but in his defense, he was just being pinned down in the kitchen, about to get his throat torn out by a goddamn werewolf. Sue him for startling.

Bookmarker's Notes
This was one of my favourite fics of all time and I am still occasionally mourning the loss of its writing and writer, as much as one can mourn a person without knowing them, anyway. I love this fic so much, it has so much personality and thought and worldbuilding and whatever the fuck. You don't understand how obsessed I was with it. I had a friend where our every conversation was just about this fic. The moment it got an update I would text her, I literally made the e-mail I use for ao3 just so that I could keep better track of when the next chapter came out. I love it so much.
