Summary
For every trial, for every task,
there is a corresponding mask.
A frown, a smirk, a pout, a grin,
They shield the soul contained therein.
But masks and faces, and manners too,
disguise the single face that’s true.
The face that’s under the facade,
the one the foolish, charmed and awed,
profess to see, to claim to know,
although they’ve never seen it show.
And so they pry through charm and guile,
in hopes to see what’s ‘neath that smile.
However, they are unaware,
that mask and face are not a pair.
For those that pry soon come to find
they don’t like what’s hiding behind,
because the face once locked within,
might not be that charming grin.
And thus the wise are dread to ask
to see what’s there beneath the mask.

The delightful, slow-paced 1930s Human!Alastor AU (though he may not be fully human) in which he summons Charlie to help him solve a series of murders and everyone and their mothers are hiding something. Ch 51.

Bookmarker's Notes
A more heartbreaking version of the canon slow-burn adoption, told through Otose's pov. Shinpachi's dad is still alive and Obi-One is still with them, two facts that fill me with dread for the rest of the story. On the other hand, Sadaharu, Catherine, Tama and Zura are here too, and thus Gintoki slowly learns how to heal ever more each chapter. Ch 10.

Summary
In which Cheol is a vampire hunter with the most spectacular lack of self-preservation instinct imaginable.
But when he stumbles across a (half?) vampire like Mi-ae in serious trouble...well, what is he supposed to do? Not risk his life several times over to save her? Don't be ridiculous.

This is EXACTLY the kind of fic I was looking for in the ASLFUA fandom. So well-written and promising too! Ch. 07.

Summary
“Why did you come here?” Aziraphale interrupts. “Why do you keep doing this?” All the saving, he means, all the chasing after Aziraphale he does. It can’t only be that he’s not keen to endure a replacement. That can’t be it, not anymore. He’s going to get himself in trouble, and then it’ll be Aziraphale’s fault.
Crowley’s mouth shuts with a click. He shifts uncomfortably in his seat, reaches for the handle of the fork and taps his fingertips against it before setting his hands in his lap.
When he speaks, it’s very soft. “Don’t you know?” he asks.
Aziraphale, unnaccustomed to his heart refusing to translate why it throbs with such haste, shakes his head.

Bookmarker's Notes
This work of art has so many quotes I'd like to save (or frame and hang on my walls perhaps) that I figured it'd be easier to just bookmark the whole fic.
Exhibit A:
He doesn’t know how to love without doing it with every fibre of his being, no one ever taught him how. Maybe no one ever taught Crowley either, and that’s why this vacillation around it hurts them so. They were not constructed to love quietly, or in pieces.
