Summary
Abe Solomon has his network set up so that he can sit in the center like a spider in a web and wait for information, and the seekers thereof, to come to him. However, he receives a request one day with enough potential for profit that he feels it's worth investigating personally... But in doing so, he ends up remembering why he doesn't run certain cons anymore.
Jack Booth runs into his favorite person while in town to pick up some supplies. The day goes great, the start of the evening is promising as well... But good times quickly turn painful when he recognizes in another signs of what he's been through... And while his first task is going to be overwriting that memory, his second task will be teaching this fuckin' hoople what divine retribution looks like.

Summary
Upon hearing the concerns of His Inferno, Gherix decided to grant His Inferno and His Shepherd a gift... However the gift is not received quite as He intended, and as He monitors the situation, He begins to have concerns. Certainly He made no mistakes, but why are the mortals acting Like That? How much more intervention is this going to require before they Stop That?!
When Shepherd ends up minus a partner, and plus more responsibility than he knows how to handle, he finds little comfort in his devotion, and begins to wonder if his new family is a trial, or perhaps a punishment rather than a gift.

Summary
Jack had silently put Abe up on a pedestal the moment they met... But why did Abe develop such a fondness for a half-feral katari that he was willing to call in favors, and put himself in precarious positions to help the younger man when he needed it?
(A few snap shots that take place during Chapter 1 of "End of the Line")

Summary
"Oh, and nothing lasts forever,
Some things aren't meant to be..."Grinnin' Jack Booth has only ever been broken, he's just figured out how to make that the rest of the world's problem. Abe Solomon is broken in his own ways that he refuses to look at... And while two broken people can come together, sometimes the parts of them that are broken won't let them stay together.
(Set in the same continuum as "Brother to Butchers" and "Grinnin' Devil." I would suggest reading the former for context, but the latter isn't necessary.)

Well, 'friend' might be too strong a word. 'Play thing,' might fit better... But the joke's on him, because apparently Jack's into that.
(In the same continuum as "Brother to Butchers", but it isn't required to read first.)
