Summary
The Sky was a murky grey. One that spelled doom for all who dwelled under it. The howling winds carried the brewing smell of bloodlust far away from the dark stone walls of the castle. A greedy king sat upon a hollow throne, as he prepared for battle. A conquest to take the wild. To hold magic in its mangled twisting form in the palm of his hand and crush it. To cage life at its very core and control it for selfish means. But this king would not be the first to fall to the bells of destiny's whims. And he would not be the last wretched man to walk that hall and wear that crown. The ticking gears of fate began to churn, and unbeknownst to the King, a shadow followed.
The sky was a bright color. Its warm orange and red hues escaped into the atmosphere, fading into the brilliant blues that existed only above the clouds on dreary days like today. A blossoming beryl light, vibrant in its pale shades. Phil loved days like today. Powerful inky black wings propelling him far above the clouds. Where the air smelt of flowers and rain, as if the world only wished good things.

"Let it be known that I completely detest the implications of what this situation is mirroring," Red Hood grumbles to himself and it's the longest string of words Duke has heard from any so-called Gotham vigilante, let alone the one who's known for shooting more than he is talking.
"The fuck?" Duke mutters, because if he's already going to die, he might as well try and make sense of it.
"I'm not going to care about whatever sob story you have," is what Red Hood replies with instead of explaining, "Where are your parents?"
"Gone," is all Duke says, because it's really none of this guy's business. It's also the truth.
Somehow, Red Hood sounds even more anguished about this information than Duke is, "Ah shit."
(Duke steals the tires off Red Hood's bike and somehow gains a family.)

Summary
Is it running from your problems if your problems consider you to be a dead imprint of consciousness that killed their son? Yes, but Danny tries not to think about how his nightmares of his parents trying to kill him came true when they found out he was Phantom.
After being on the run from his parents and the government for a couple of months, moving from town to town, Danny ends up in Gotham City and decides to risk staying in Batman's territory. He'd take the wrath of Batman over live vivisection via beloved parents or being studied and torn apart by the government. Besides, he's not a meta. Being dead is a medical condition.

Summary
In the grand scheme of things, one single person isn't much. They are a grain of sand in the vast desert, and they are lost without a trace, only to be briefly rediscovered when one looks at their family tree, or finds their gravestone hidden beneath the dirt and grass that cover it.
But, for some unlucky people, the world seems to focus on their single grain, and gives them every bit of pain and suffering that it can.
And for Harry Hartford, formerly known as Harry Potter, he is that grain of sand.
But god, how he wished he wasn't.
A retelling of the Harry Potter story which, while it generally hits the same story beats, falls off the wagon rather quickly. Where Harry grows up knowing he is loved, and he finds a new set of friends, and yet, at the same time, quickly learns that the world has it out for him for circumstances outside of his control.
And because of that, he must find a way to survive without completely losing himself in the process.

The students of Gotham Academy were confused. It was International Friendship Week, and it was Gotham’s turn to host. Except no one wanted Gotham to host, not even Gotham! So the Directors of the Friendship Conference decided that it was in everybody’s best interest to skip the City of Crime and go straight to the City of Lights. Everyone thought that it was the perfect idea! Except for Paris. The Gothamites couldn’t help but laugh and scoff at the Parisians insistence that Gotham would be a much safer place than Paris, and nothing should change. And everyone, even one Damian Wayne, was thrilled when the petition went through, and they boarded the plane for Paris.
