For Sebastian, falling in love was like that: one day he and Sam were playing video games in his basement bedroom, the next, the sparkle in Sam's eyes when he won the latest round of Plumber Kart made his heart skip a beat.

As Maru descended the stairs leading from the community center to the town square, she recognized a figure walking toward the general store: Penny. She froze for a moment, wondering if she should head home, but before she could move, her ex-wife looked up and their eyes locked, and she realized it was too late.
"Hey," she greeted her once they were in earshot of each other, resisting the urge to fix her hair or fuss with her sweater. Stay calm, Maru, she instructed herself, fighting off a wave of complicated, painful emotions she had hoped to avoid on this trip home.
"Hey," Penny said, coolly, a polite smile on her face that didn't quite meet her eyes. She looked tired, liked she hadn't slept well in months.
Maru knew how she felt.

Oh sure, his hometown would occasionally get a dusting of snow, just enough to provide a picturesque landscape for half a day before it was reduced to slush and ice, but it was nothing like he'd seen in Pelican Town when the season had changed from Fall to Winter. And even though all the Pelican Townees (Townites? Towners? Townsonians? Elliott had not yet been able to determine the correct collective name for the residents of his new home) had warned him that he hadn't seen a 'real' storm yet, he'd thought they surely must be exaggerating.
He'd been mistaken.

He closed his eyes, wondering for a moment if it would be weird to jack-off to the thought of Sam. He'd done it before (not that he'd ever admit that to anyone except maybe Sam… and only if Sam ever confessed that he thought of Seb, too), each time feeling a little ashamed of his actions. He'd tried and failed each and every one of those times, after all.
But now, he's here in Sam's apartment, his lips still tingling from when he'd kissed Sam, and Sam had kissed him back, and he's following him back to his bedroom.
