"Frankly a little dumbfounded, Monica watches with her mouth slightly open as Binary taps some buttons on a monitor in the room, revealing what she can only guess are her vitals. A quiet panic begins to rise in her throat.
After one final swipe, Binary turns back around.
“I’m assuming the fact that we couldn’t get a conclusive X-ray has something to do with your ability to seal off universes?” She gravitates toward the door as she speaks, concluding her question by approaching the glass doors and prompting them to slide open. Monica looks back and forth between the woman she wishes deeply was her mother and the possibility she may never see her again."
