Rumi’s fingers curled.
Mira’s eyes dropped, first to Rumi’s lips, then down her neck, her collarbone, her chest rising fast. Too fast. This was no longer about winning. Not really.
The anger had bled into something else entirely.
But Rumi’s other hand pressed flat against her shoulder. A warning.

Mira was shoved off and onto her back with a frustrated grunt.

Rumi pulled the shirt over her head, the fabric catching briefly on her hair. She turned her back to Mira as she tugged it down, hands shaking just enough to annoy her.
“This,” Rumi said, gesturing vaguely between them. The bed. The six months they’d never named. “Whatever we keep pretending this is.”

Rumi's hands begin to shake. "...what do you see?" she whispers.
"A demon. I don't trust you. Not with me, not with Zoey, not with yourself. You're no different than any other demon we've come across. No different than Gwi-Ma."
There is a shocked silence.
Rumi face crumples, it reminds them of the way she begged just a few weeks ago. Begged them not to leave her. To love her. Things had been so good, she was selfish to think she could have this. To want this.

or Rumi tries to hide her full demon traits after the idol awards to protect Zoey and Mira from her, and out of fear that their new fragile relationship will break under the reveal. Mira lashes out in the worst way possible after she catches Rumi in yet another lie, and angst ensues.
