When Akane was younger, she met Ryoga on his early mission to get Ranma and basically chased him to get him to teach her since her own father refused to teach her, till she ended up lost as well...and in China. Ryoga managed to slip away, and she found herself in Jusenkyo, and in a spring, before getting taken to the Amazon's who taught her what her own family refused to share.
