Summary
Patton Foster would do anything to help his friends. Take Virgil in after his family died? Yep! Burn a dragon to save Roman? Okay, though he doesn’t feel good about it. Rescue Logan and Remus when, during that same dragon raid, they’re kidnapped? Patton and Virgil are already on their way to Dragon Mountain.
But it can only be reached by a dragon. And the only dragon around is the same dragon Patton burned. His name’s Janus. Nobody expected him to agree to help, but he did, and Virgil insists it was to betray them. Maybe so, but Patton hopes Janus’ betrayal will wait until they’re through the Iron Woods. Built to keep humans out and other things in, Patton will need all the help he can get to find Logan and Remus without losing their names or their lives.
As they get trapped in trees, drown in a lake, and almost fall to their deaths way too many times, Patton has to decide who he can trust. His best friend, his enemy who might not be all bad--or himself.

Summary

Thomas doesn't really have anything to worry about, because he trusts Morality. Morality loves him more than anything else in the world. Morality would do anything to protect him. Morality will stop at nothing to ensure he's safe. And Thomas carries that fact with him wherever he goes. It's comforting, to be so loved. Loved so fully, in his entirety, by Morality.

Summary
Janus is an old-fashioned vampire, living secluded in an archaic mansion past the outskirts of town. On one particular night, four intruders decide to snoop around his house, leaving Janus delighted at the opportunity of a few free meals. However, he decides he has plenty of time to play with the group before killing them to satisfy his own gluttony, and so decides to keep them around as his temporary pets... nothing more, nothing less.

Summary
“I never asked to be the leader, it sort of just… happened, I guess.” The first of four sentences that had brought them to this stifling silence. The intense suffocation, as the air was pulled from the atmosphere around them. "They just always seemed to look to me for the answers, they all said ‘oh Morality will know what to do!’ And I don’t know what to do, but I’m definitely meant to know, you know? I’m sure you get it.”
The day and the night meet in the garden on another one of their not-business-meetings-but-not-quite-dates. The tea is cold and the lemonade is warm. They have a lot to discuss.

Beautiful wonderful fic for a Janus dialogue about protecting The Others. It’s even got Patton being compared to the sun. I love it. There’s a lot of little details in the words that are wonderful l, I think the way Janus is described as holding down and swallowing his feelings is excellent for him.
As another comment said here, “His scared little dark things. His scared little dark things. What those fucking words do to me...” because god. Yeah.
