Guel lifts the orange keychain, presently moonlighting as a pendant, and asks her, “So? What do you think?” With the confident air of a guy who didn’t just pick whatever flowers had color within his reach in the span of 5 minutes, and then tied them up in the twine that came with the box of pastries they bought along the way. But, it’s not…bad by his standards! There are red flowers, blue ones, purple, even yellow ones! Those are the basic colors of a bouquet, right? Or something to that extent.
But after a long hum, the only thing that Ericht tells him is, “I dunno, I’m not Miorine.”

ART said, more cautiously than I was used to from it, This is more akin to physical touch than what you usually find tolerable.
I knew that, but I didn’t like thinking about it. It was fine.
ART took me at my word for it, and having it squish me became part of the things we did when I was anxious or plagued by stress toxins in my system. Sometimes I asked it to do it even when I was feeling okay. It was a nice feeling. At the time I thought of it as comfortable and relaxing. Without someone physically present touching me, it registered more like the pressure of being underwater, and that just didn’t repulse me like touching skin did.
It’s true that it was relaxing, but the reason I liked it so much was secretly that it felt good. I hadn’t even admitted it to myself at the time, but I kept asking ART to squeeze me, and eventually things escalated.

Summary
Katara is eighteen, avoiding an arranged marriage to the only man her age in the South Pole she’s not related to, and stumbles upon a man freezing in the ice.
He’s been abandoned by whatever ship he sailed on and has no memory of where he comes from, who he is, or why he has stunning gold eyes when everyone else in the South Pole has gorgeous blue.
Even though he makes her heart flutter like nothing else before, Katara has a duty to her people. The neighboring tribe’s proposal would ensure her village survives the brutal winter, but she cannot stand her betrothed. Meanwhile, the stranger with amnesia needs to prove his worth to the village if he doesn’t want to be exiled for the sin of having the wrong eye color.
They strike a deal. Help each other provide for the town, and he’ll get to stay until he remembers who he is, and Katara can avoid her marriage—at least for one more year.
But after a year together, fighting to survive the cold, how will they face his memories coming to the surface when someone else is found in the ice?
(AKA this is a slightly aged up gaang. Zuko has amnesia, lives in SWT for a year, and then joins the gaang early for the events of the show. Zutara-centric.)
