Summary
Viktor has spent years buried in the quiet of his cabin, tucked behind alchemy and iron self-restraint, denying the call of his instincts. “So you won’t take me because I’ll, what — see people fucking? Get offered drugs?”
“Jayce…” Viktor warns, more to himself than to the other man. He can feel his already slippery grip on the situation weakening.
“C’mon, V. I’ll be good, I promise! I’ll keep my hands to myself, I won’t take candy from strangers, and if it’s too much, we can leave.”
Jayce keeping his hands to himself is not the thing he was worried about. It’s everybody else who wouldn’t be able to keep their hands away from him. They descend on topsiders like piranhas when presented with the opportunity. Their naïveté precedes them. Viktor has seen men and women undone by hands and tongues in mere minutes, and they’re not too keen on stopping before they’ve had more than their fill.
It’s so lawless, even for the undercity, that the only way to assure Jayce’s sanctity would be to put him in a fucking tag.
…Now there’s a thought.

In which the only way for Viktor to keep Jayce safe from the greedy hands and mouths of Zaunite clubs is to put him in a collar and claim ownership. However fake (or real) it may be.

Summary
A lot of this new existence is involuntary. A lot of it is outside of his control. Changing and chirping and glowing and wanting and starving in ways Viktor wouldn't allow if he had any say in it. Actively rooted out from himself when he did have a say in it.
He'd like to say grabbing Jayce, pressing him to the mattress, pinning him there to taste his supple, enticing mouth was involuntary as well. But that would be a lie, wouldn't it?
Alternatively: Post-canon, alive in a different universe, the machine Herald goes through a metamorphosis, grows some fun new parts, and is tormented by how much he'd like to use those new parts on Jayce. Thankfully, Jayce is more than eager to earn his monsterfucker card.
