Tanjiro is now 20 and the new sun breathing hashira, and he's sent on a mission with his best friend Muichiro when the mission takes a dark turn.

Melanie destroys the relic before he can power it up and in his anger he tries to duel her, but one of his spells rebounds and the room around them collapses, trapping her inside. After she's rescued it's all downhill as she fights Ranrok and Rookwood, fighting for her life while also dealing with the hostility from Sebastian on very little sleep. Needless to say, she's a bit crabby. She still loves the idiot for some reason, though.

Yoongi hears a gurgle come from Hoseok behind him and whips around. His confusion turns to surprise, before he gets a wicked thought in his head. Hoseok happens to look over at the elder just as he goes to turn, immediately suspicious when he sees the evil grin that has taken over his mouth.
“Ah, Joon-ah, you were always smart. Are you any good in this class?”
Hoseok’s eyes widen and he shoots from his chair, forgetting there’s a desk in front of him, and tangles his ankle in the desk leg, crashing to the floor.
“Well fuck me sideways.” he grumbles to himself.

The walk to his front door seems to take years, and suddenly he’s watching his hand move to his door knob, pulling it open to reveal Yoongi outside.
He barely has time to take in the alpha’s appearance before the elder is pushing through the door past Namjoon into the apartment as if afraid the omega will slam the door shut in his face. Which, all things considered, isn’t an invalid fear on his part.
Namjoon wraps a blanket around him and curls his arms around himself defensively before saying quietly, “I know you’ve come to yell at me. I haven’t been a good friend these weeks.”
“That is what I came over for, yeah. I don’t blame you for being upset, I just- I wish you wouldn’t shut me out. We’ve always confided in each other. We’ve been like a package deal for so long it feels like I’ve lost a piece of myself in the last two weeks.”“Yoongi-hyung, we’re going to have to stop being a package deal."

“You still haven’t found a heat mate?” Taehyung asks around a mouthful of food. Jin grimaces in his direction and scolds him with a, “don’t talk with your mouth full you caveman! And no, I still haven’t found a heat mate.”
“Have you thought about calling the alpha service?” Yoongi asks insensitively.
Jin scrunches his nose in disgust and says, “ugh no. I’d rather spend my heats alone than with some stranger. It’s not very intimate and it costs too much money.”
“Well what about-” Jimin begins, but is interrupted by a thump next door and a loud muffled, “mother of a fucking whore, OW!”
“-your neighbor....” Jimin finishes with a confused frown, eyes focused on the wall between apartments.
“I don’t think Joon is in commission right now.” Yoongi says through a laugh. -

“So how did the date go?”
The group of seven sit around the living room, scattered on the sofa or the floor. Hoseok had waited for Jin to go into the kitchen to make tea before bombarding Namjoon after seeing the happy look in the boy's eyes everytime he looked at Jin.
Jungkook’s eyes zero in on Namjoon subconsciously as the question is asked, not going unnoticed by Yoongi.
“It was great, actually. You were right, we had a lot in common. Well, cooking maybe not, but we had a lot of other stuff in common. He likes some of the same music as me, movies, books, stuff like that. His jokes were funny, too.”
Yoongi lets out a loud scoff at that and Hoseok gives a loud bark of laughter. “Joonie, his jokes are horrible! You two are soulmates if you really thought they were funny.”
“I’ll have you know my jokes are fucking amazing Jung Hoseok.” Jin says primly as he pads back to Namjoon’s side. Plopping down, he turns his nose into the air with a dramatic hmph.
Namjoon giggles and lays a hand on the elder’s knee, keeping from tipping over from the force of his giggle. Jimin happens to look over just in time to see a dark glare bridging from Jungkook’s eyes to Namjoon’s hand. -
