Summary

"what the fuck?" colt's voice hardens instantly, sharp with anger now. "ryland, where are you?"
ryland hears movement on the other end. frantic.
"c-colt, no—"
"ryland grace," colt says, low and dangerous. "i need names."
"colt, there's no need for that," ryland chokes out. "they're coming for me, i—I don't know what to do—"
"you stay where you are," colt says immediately. "you hear me? stay put or find somewhere to hide. that woman you told me about—eva stratt, right?"
"colt, please—don't—"
"i'm not fighting," colt snaps. "i'm fucking killing them for touching you."
ryland shakes his head, even though he can't see him.
"there's... there's nothing you can do," he whispers.

colt finds out ryland has been sent aboard the Hail Mary and learns how to cope with the absence of his beloved brother while ryland struggles to remember his life back on earth and works alongside rocky to save their stars.
