Duke was confused,so confused when he woke up,his bones were sore,really sore like the time he broke his arm at soccer practice but everywhere and way worse. He also wasn't at home in bed anymore,he was lying on a rooftop!?!Why wasn't he at home,where was mama and daddy!?! Duke felt his breath quicken as he sat up,he wasn't wearing his robin pajamas that he'd gone to bed in last night he was wearing some weird yellow suit,it kinda looked like Batman's suit but yellow and without the cape .It was also heavy and waaaay to big!Duke also had a helmet on his head,it was also really heavy.Why was he wearing all these weird clothes??
Duke noticed that there was a lady kneeling in front of him,she looked panicked,she was wearing weird clothes and she kept talking to herself.Maybe she knew where his parents were.

Summary
Despite it being the narrows the streets were still packed with people,gotham was a major city afterall and so many (annoying) tourists swarmed to the city every year to see the pretty architecture or to get a glimpse of the fabled vigilantes that swung through the city at night.
Duke used to look up to the bats as well before he saw the truth,Batman wasn't some hero. He didn't come when Duke and his parents needed him,he didn't stop the joker from ruining his life,he didn't even kill the sick clown!! He just threw him back into arkham where he'd eventually break out and kill more innocent people,batman wasn't helping anyone he was just delaying the inevitable…Annoying hero worship of Batman aside the tourists had one good thing about them,they usually carried large amounts of money on them, often cash which was good news for a hungry duke who could use some money for a quick meal.

What if Dukes Parents got attacked by the Jocker earlier on,Long before He ever met Bruce wayne.What if instead of becoming a bat Duke thomas becomes a cat?

Bruce died and Cass couldn’t breathe for a week. She didn’t want to believe it at first, didn’t want to even think of it. She knew Bruce and she knew death and they didn’t fit together, not at all.
He was gone, gone like Brenda and Bludhaven, gone like Steph had been. Like Faizul. She felt it inside of her, so keenly it was as if she had killed him by her own hand. She could search the whole earth and not find a trace of him. It was too much. The pressure was squeezing her insides, left her constantly choking for air. She couldn’t stop dry heaving.
Or: Bruce is dead. Instead of leaving, Cass stays in Gotham. She learns a thing or two about being Batman.

Growing up in their humble weapons shop, Nya’s used to not having much. But she has Kai. As long as the two of them are together, things will be alright.
That’s not to say that she doesn’t wish they had more, sometimes. It would be nice not to worry about their next meal, or how they would pay rent.
