    As someone who holds the 2015 Cinderella as her favorite movie of all time (there is something about truly), this fic does it beautifully. It does it beyond justice. Reading this felt like the same 10 year old girl that I once was - the one who had never seen Cinderella 1950 - watching Lily James sing Lavender Blue on her open window for the first time. How this fic captures the magic and love is beyond me. I genuinly hold so much adoration to the 2015 move. It centers and calms in a way that is indescribable. This fic does the same thing.

    This fic is special not just because of its topic but because of my history with it. I have been apart of this fandom for years (at least 9) and so I have read a LOT of fanfiction in my lifetime. I have read a lot of fanfics and yet I always come back to this one. SailorChibi's fic raised me in a way - Best served in front of the whole and A mutual arrangement both being one of the first fanfics I ever read on here. This fic in particular is special. It taught me love. When you are freshly fourteen, thinking about your first love - your Adrien - and how you would pine for a boy that didn't even know you exist, having a fic rewrite all that you knew about love is astonishing. My own parents remind me greatly of Sabine and Tom - all the down to the family business and their parents not approving. I remember my breath being taken away, much like Marinette's, when Sabine brought up the handsome's man smile and pretty woman's eyes. It was like my own parents love story and how they kept choosing each other. Sabine telling Marinette and in a way, younger me, the struggles of love was a takeaway I will never forget. The way I learned how to keep choosing what I love and who I love due to the influence of this fic. I have never been a relationship, not when I first read it and not now, but knowing that love isn't all that is enough. Now that I am five years older than I was when I originally read this fic, it makes me appreciate love. I see the choosing of love in movies I watch, and books I read. I see it in myself everyday due to this fanfic.

    Hallucination, right? Has to be. But then Stoick pressed his axe close enough to graze the bottom of Hiccups chin and nope, nope, not a hallucination. “I— I don’t understand.”
    “Did the dragon get you? Have you seen it?”
    “Dragon,” Hiccup repeated numbly. Dragon. He knew that word. Definitely knew it. It sure sounded familiar. “Dr—Dragon! The dragon. Right, um, yes, right, uh— Yellow scales, four wings… that dragon?”
    “Are there other dragons about?” It wasn’t a rhetorical or teasing question, but a man asking how many enemies were around him.
    “No, uh. No. I just… I saw it crash into the ground and— wait, you crashed with it?” Hiccup suddenly realized. “What were you doing with that dragon?!”
    Stoick leaned back from Hiccup just long enough to raise his axe. “What do you think I was trying to do, boy?”
    Oh.
    Oh.

    Hiccup is still mourning the death of his father one year prior when a mysterious dragon crashes, somehow bringing a Stoick from the past with it. For a moment, it's like a miracle, until he realizes that this version of his father isn't the one he lost, but the one he's spent years trying to forget.

    So this fic is illegal. Made me cry like 7 times and in a sobbing alone at midnight kind of way - and made me laugh like a kid again. Very mixed emotions I’ll tell ya. But nevertheless so good and so hit me in the feels - beyond lovely and def a fav.
