Summary
The wind from a cracked window nearby chooses that time to make an appearance, swirling Bella’s loose hair around her face. At the same moment, all of the striking people snap their heads around to stare at her directly. Shrinking back, she looks up at them as their postures simultaneously stiffen. After several long heartbeats of the unexpected stare-down, they break their eyes away to move on towards a table in the back corner.
Feeling lightheaded, Bella jumps as a tray slams down across from her. A girl she sat next to in one of her previous classes leans across the table to her, practically vibrating in excitement.
“Oh. My. Gosh.” She nearly shrieks, reaching forward to grab Bella’s arm. “I cannot believe that you sat here, it’s like practically off limits.”
Or: Bella befriends vampires, turns into a wolf, unites mortal enemies, and somehow finds love along the way.

Instead, as he gnawed mindlessly on Ghost’s skin, what came out of his mouth was, “Spend your rut with me, Alpha.”
The hand in his hair pulled his head back further, almost painfully, and Soap’s mouth dropped open on a sudden moan. Ghost exhaled sharply through his nose.
“You on birth control, Johnny?” he got out between clenched teeth.
“Yes, sir,” Soap lied seamlessly.

For one, he’s Johnny’s superior officer, and at least a decade his senior. Navigating a rejection from Sergeant MacTavish is out of the question—if only because of the hierarchical power dynamics of it all.

Summary
Soap's file paints him as aggressive, reactive - he imagines it's been a surprise for his Captain and fellow Sergeant to see him so easily brought to heel under Ghost's boot.
But he can't help himself - it's primal, pure instinct, that makes him want to follow Ghost wherever he leads. Having someone push him to be his best self, be firm and clear with his orders, make sure Soap knows his place and doesn't put a toe out of line.
He never knew how much he craved a strong, guiding hand, until it was attached to the wolf currently sitting at his side, staring at him.
