"Do you want to try feeling inside me again?" Hikaru asks, eyes bright.
"Would I learn anything new, doing it again?" Yoshiki asks a little skeptically. He has tried it twice already, and if anything, he understands Hikaru less.
"Probably not," Hikaru says, but he hasn't moved, and his eyes remain fixed on Yoshiki.
Yoshiki knows that it would be colossally stupid. He's messing with things he doesn't understand, and he doesn't really need Kurebayashi's warnings to know it's dangerous for himself and those around him. He worries that with each brush against whatever lies beneath Hikaru's skin, he loses more of his humanity, that someday he'll be corrupted beyond recognition.
And yet, a part of him wants.

Summary
For some reason, Aikawa Hajime was Kenzaki’s soul nemesis, someone who posed such an inherent threat to him that fate had seen it fit to mark him out personally. The thing was, Hajime didn’t actually seem like a bad person. Despite everything, there was something in Kenzaki that wanted to trust him, to fight alongside him rather than against him, even if it meant going up against destiny itself.

"I think you should shut up," Hayami snapped. It was useless to try and make Akira anything other than what he was, even if it made Hayami feel like his veins were on fire sometimes.
"I've been working so hard recently, taking all these extra cases," Akira said, still hanging limply between Hayami's fists and the wall. "It was just a quick break, okay? To eat some food and chat and rest. Maybe you'd get it if you weren't so high strung all the time!"
A part of Hayami wanted to shove him harder against the wall, just to get Akira to stop talking for two seconds. But of course, despite all his frustration, Hayami did genuinely care for Akira and would rather die than actually hurt him.
Hayami released Akira in disgust. "The reason you're taking on all these extra cases is because of the debt you got yourself into! Maybe you wouldn't have to do any of this if you were a bit more like me."
