After the events in Rota Fortunae, Ratio drags Aventurine to an abandoned casino, where a set of flickering screens allows him to fix his partner. As the silence seeps into his bones, thoughts of the past float through the Doctor’s mind - regret and longing intertwining until containment feels unbearable.
And on the side, the Android’s eyes flicker open as memories from a past life begin flooding his system. The innate affection he had been feeling towards his mission partner suddenly starts making a lot more sense.

Aventurine’s stomach flips, the words clattering around his skull like dice in a tin cup.
Or in which Aventurine goes undercover at a brothel and accidentally finds Ratio there.

Summary
"Capture the fae Prince."
The King's command reverberates throughout the imperial court, thunderous and imposing. His somber tone leaves nary a room for even the slightest whiff of protest, and Prince Veritas knows better than to dispute with his father's whims. At least, not at this very moment.
And in addition to the fact that they did sign a treaty with the previously mentioned race, the faes, not too long ago… the declaration presents, indeed, an outstandingly thought-provoking conundrum.
"Any fae Prince will not do, Veritas, my esteemed son," the King continues, paying no heed to his internal turmoil, "You ought to bring the Avgin Prince into our fold by whatever means necessary."
On a journey to search for the last known descendant of the Avgin royalty at the behest of his father, Prince Veritas is accompanied by Aventurine, a Stoneheart. But there seems to be more to this man than meets the eye.

Summary
Aventurine is still lounging in his bed half-dressed when Veritas returns, fuming.
“What did he do?” he demands, trying with difficulty to keep his emotions from filling his voice with unnecessary implications. “Did he touch you?”
Aventurine shrugs. “I don’t know, did he?" He is clad only in a pair of unbuttoned trousers, the hem of his underwear showing through the open flap. His small, pert breasts rise and fall with his breath, pink nipples taut in the chill of the early autumn evening that rolls in through the open window. "Maybe you should come over here and make sure my innocence is still intact, Professor.”
Every time his wayward student attempts to back him into a corner, Veritas manages to stay strong.
Until the time he doesn't.
