It’s another mage in a Wolfpack story!!! Ahhhhh I’m obsessed. I wanted to spend a bit more time in the hunters camp and avoid some of the miscommunication trope cause it stresses me out haha. So get ready for a lot of hurt before they get rescued by the hearthstone pack and then a lot of comfort.

Summary
A captive mage to cruel hunters, Jaime has spent years hoping a werewolf pack would break through his wards, freeing the wolves and ending Eskender's quest for gold and blood.
As a child, he'd dreamed they'd see his pain and be merciful enough to set him free, too.
When wolves finally find them years later, Jaime only dares to ask for a quick death. He should have known he wouldn't be so lucky.
Meanwhile, Dimitri and Hearthstone pack are grappling with the loss of their friends and resent their Alpha's choice to keep the hunters' mage and put him to use instead of kill him.
As time goes on, Jaime's kind nature begins to win the wolves over—but none of them are out of the woods yet.

Summary
Jaime, an enslaved mage, is tired of killing werewolves. It seems Eskender, Jaime's master, is also getting tired of him. Jaime has roughly 48 hours to bring down this whole werewolf-killing operation (preferably with himself inside) before Eskender can get wise and kill him early.
Dmitri, one of the wolves captured by Eskender and his crew, just wants to go home, and he doesn't care who he has to shred through to make that happen, especially the mage who seems to be the key to everything.
Mostly everyone wants Jaime dead. Maybe Jaime just needs to give a little push to make everything happen.
(Not as dark as I'm making it sound)

We’re familiar with the mage collar. It’s a collar, leather or metal, engraved somehow with runes which serve to restrict the wearer’s access to their magic. It’s keyed to a specific individual, who is the one who dictates the usage of the wearer’s magic.
Instead, let’s consider the compulsion collar. It is similarly a leather or metal collar, but the engraved runes instead make it so that the wearer must obey the commands of the one who bound them to the best of their ability.
Now, what happens when you take a compulsion collar, and put it on a mage? Let’s find out.

They had gotten sick of his constant complaints and whining as they called it pretty early one.
And before Jaime had properly learnt that no amount of begging and trying to reason with the hunters would stop anything, Eskander had taken matters into his own hands.
Pinning Jaime down one night his large bulk and the rope binding his hands and legs made it impossible for him to move. With a hand forcing his head up and the other gripping a knife as he carefully carved a rune of silence into his throat right above his collar.

A mere month after the Hearthstone pack defeated a group of hunters and took their mage captive, a new group threatens the pack. This time, the wolves decide to strike first - and take the collared mage with them so they can use his magic to track the hunters down. It's a risk, of course: The hunter mage could be helpful, but he could also ruin all their efforts if given a chance. Even if he's been surprisingly docile so far.
Jaime is glad to help the wolves in any way he can, but he'd prefer not to see any hunters ever again. Not that he gets a choice.
