Lucy Chen walks into a bank on her day off. No badge. No gun. A low fever and two bags of groceries at her feet. When armed men take the building she becomes one of the twelve hostages with no way to identify herself and no way out. Outside Tim Bradford takes command on the scene with no idea his girl is inside. He tries to negotiate with the leader of these men. She hears his voice through the radio but has no way of getting the information that she is in there to him.

I was asked to write a one shot centered around a very pregnant Lucy dragging Tim to a store in the middle of the night to fulfil a late-night craving. While they're shopping, the store they're at gets robbed and the two of them become hostages. During all the chaos, Lucy's water breaks so Tim ends up having to juggle how to keep Lucy safe and getting them out of there safety without escalating the situation. Lucy has just been recovered by the whole team after her ordeal with the ‘monster’ that was Caleb. She was taken to hospital where she is now slowly recovering and maybe finding out a few new things. It is very clear to all the team that there is something between Tim and Lucy that goes beyond partners on the job. The life Lucy thought she was building at Mid-Wilshire is about to be turned completely upside down.This does not follow exact timelines of the series, I’ve made choices based on what I liked from the episodes and storylines throughout the series and created my own rookie timeline because we all know the show doesn’t really exist with one anyway.
Get ready, buckle up because you are in for a long one… maybe one long enough to get us through the hiatus until season 8…
