Katsuki can do nothing but blink up at them for moments that feel like an eternity, eyes darting between both his parents in obvious confusion, disbelief, and, more than anything, indignation.
"What the fuck are you two talking about? The damn nerd is standing right beside you!"During a battle, Midoriya gets hit by a villain whose quirk detaches his soul from his body. Stuck in a ghost-like state, the boy enters a race against time in order to save himself from permanently dying. Much to his luck - or lack of it -, the only person who can see and talk to him in this state is no one other than Kacchan.
Alternatively: Deku and Kacchan are soulbound.

“So you’ll stay?” Katsuki starts, suspicion etched into the words. “You won’t fly off or something?”
At that, Todoroki leans forwards in the chair. He looks deeply troubled by the accusation.
“Dragons are very serious about their oaths,” Todoroki explains. “Just as Elves appear to be serious about gardens that don’t belong to them…”
Huffing at that, Katsuki takes a seat on his second-favourite chair.
“Right, yeah. I forgot.” he grins sharply, words just as jagged around the edges. “Your garden. Cos it’s your domain.”
Unfazed, Todoroki nods.
“Exactly.”
Dragons are cool in storybooks. They're supposed to stay there, not frolic around Katsuki's garden causing a damn scene.

So fluffy, lighthearted and amusing with incredibly whimsical, unique and surreal world building. Absolutely ridiculous, hilarious prose and characters.
It's written from Katsuki's POV. He is indignant, sarcastic in a way that is very funny and reminiscent of an old man.
Shouto is incredibly airheaded, genuine and oblivious while still being a little shit.
Sadly it isn't finished but the first chapter is good on its own too

Summary
The words that bloom on Katsuki’s arm are painfully familiar, to the point that he can hear the grating, wobbly voice saying them in his ear. They’re specific in a damning way, but at the same time vague enough that it could be someone else who says them. Someone he still has to meet in a situation that hasn’t yet occurred.
…Okay, so that’s a bunch of bullshit and he’s not pathetic enough to cling to desperate hope like that for too long. But he’s got some time to convince himself it’s possible his soulmate is someone else. Anyone else.
Deku’s birthday is still a few months away, after all.
