Summary
The new guy coming into Martin's work keeps on pestering him, but it's fine because he's cute. With every shitty thing going on in Martin's life, a small flirt never hurt anyone, even if Jon is totally out of his league with his ripped jeans and painted nails.
OR
Martin, the new clerk at the corner store, refuses to sell Jon his cigarettes because he isn't old enough, and it would be "illegal".
Thankfully, Jon is stubborn enough not to admit defeat. He just has to keep on trying. This isn't about the cigarettes anymore, is it?

Summary
(tw injury)
“Fuck.” Martin hissed, taking in a sharp breath through his teeth as the metal slid, just wrong, out of his hand. The pain bloomed across his neck only a few seconds after he saw the blade slide, in the mirror, and then - very slowly, with no fanfare, a few beads of blood began to pop up from the little cut on the side of his neck. “Godfuckingdammit.”
He hated shaving. Fuck, he hated it. It was so easy to slip up with the way his hands didn’t like to work these days, and he’d always been clumsy even before the numbness stole his fucking dexterity, and the result wasn’t even worth it. And the pain wasn’t bad, but there was blood, and it was going to make a mess, and -
He pressed a hand over the cut, putting light pressure on the wound, watching with a grimace in the mirror as the pale skin of his face went just a little paler, and the contrast of deep red began to dribble down his neck.
He stared, transfixed, for a long moment as something clicked in the back of his brain.
A twig snapping, an unknown sound in an empty house, that set his body on high alert before he could even process why -
...fuck, he...he didn’t feel right.

Summary
Martin finds it difficult to let go of the haze of being half-alive, completely.
There's a comfort in it, after all..
(Or: Martin didn't really have to eat or sleep much, once he was entrenched in the Lonely.
In the safehouse, those needs come back, human as ever, but...he finds it more than a little difficult to give up the haze that comes over his mind when he doesn't eat.
It just feels empty, distant, familiar.
Safe.Jon takes care of him, how he can.)

Summary
“Tell me about it?” He asked, and Jon froze. He mouthed a word for a second, then another, and then he was back to hiding in his tea. It took exactly seven seconds for him to come back up for air - and then he was looking at Martin, a fond exasperation in his face, nestled alongside the flustered avoidance.
“Well. I, uh, I quite liked the idea of just having…something, I suppose. A small family that was...mine, rather than borrowed." He laughed, not meeting Martin’s gaze for more than a second at a time. “The idea was just…romantic to me, I suppose.”
“Understandable. You are *quite* the hopeless romantic, after all.”
"Says the *poet*."
He spit it like a curse, but there was no acid.
“Yeah, and you’re still more of a romantic than I am. Quite the achievement, Jon.” He smirked, and Jon ducked back into his tea, hiding. He heard a small sigh, then a sip, and then that voice was coming out, his entire face half hidden behind the cup clutched so close to his nose that it was a little silly. Both hands around it, his eyes just barely peeking up over the rim every so often, stealing glances at Martin.Martin would have killed for him, honestly.
He'd gotten much better at living for him, though.Bookmarked by Carol_Lizzy

Summary
After a distressing encounter with the Dark, Jon is left a little out of sorts.
Martin, ever the protector, helps him as they search for a solution, together..
Jon just clung to him, arms wrapping as tightly as they could around his neck with their limited strength, the lethargy running through them bone-deep. He buried his head into Martin’s chest, the leather armor cool and solid against his cheek. Martin tried not to focus on how right it felt, how much his heart pounded against his ribcage as Jon nuzzled into him. How perfectly he fit in his arms, with all the ease of breathing.
Dozing off, feeling safe, Jon heard Martin’s voice come one last time, unerringly soft.
“Alright. Let’s get you home, okay?”
