"He slowly rose up to his full height, mindful of his nausea, and yanked his brother up to his feet as well. His body still shook as he settled into the proper stance, but Michikatsu could follow every kata in his sleep, let alone in a state of moderate pain. Yoriichi watched him in silence. Seeing those eyes, seeing himself in those eyes almost made him throw down his blade and refuse, just to quell the rotted ball of nervous energy rolling around in his ribcage.
What do you see? he wanted to ask. Is it a pathetic thing? A thing that you humor with your interest?
But brother asked, and so Michikatsu would provide."
