Summary
A few years after the war, Naruto finds himself in a bind: his friends are all pairing off, and this somehow means he should have someone special too. Sakura seems to think she has the perfect person in mind, and no matter what Naruto says, he can’t convince her he isn’t interested.
At least there’s one person who isn’t weirdly invested in his nonexistent love life—Kakashi-sensei, for all that Naruto is convinced he’s a closet romantic because of his Icha Icha obsession, couldn’t care less who anyone dates. He probably finds the idea of his goofball student being romantically involved with anyone in the first place completely laughable.
His sensei is totally uninterested in the idea of Naruto and romance, and Naruto is confident he can count on that.

KakaNaru. Post-war, Naruto is 18. When a friendship that turns into a bromance trips over an awkward series of events before stumbling into romance because Kakashi won't look where he's going, Naruto never pays attention, Kurama is antagonistic and meddlesome, and their friends are scheming ninjas, this is what happens.
SPOILERS up to manga chapter 654, and an obvious deviation from canon soon after that point! I also made up a lot of stuff, so if you're not caught up to that chapter just pretend I made everything up! =D
This is rated 'Mature' mostly for the cussing, and I'll post notes at the beginning of chapters for any other warnings you need to be wary of. The 'Explicit Sexual Content' is contained within one chapter, and I'll be posting a lengthy warning for that as well. Please...PLEASE read the author notes!
I highly recommend reading the companion piece to this story, 'Certain Things Rearrange...', after each chapter or at the end of the story.

The second thing Kakashi noticed about him was that he looked young, he looked around Kakashi’s age, no older than 21 or 22 at least. Blonde, unruly hair splayed out on the ground, the golden tips dyed red with his blood. His face looked calm, despite the state of the rest of him. Long blonde lashes rested against tan cheeks in his unconsciousness. Kakashi scowled at the scars that marred the man’s cheeks, three whisker like scars on each side, original cuts so deep they seemed indented still in his flesh. Blood seeped out of his nose and dribbled over his lax lips. Nothing about the man screamed imminent danger. He looked so small and innocent, pitiful in the puddle of his own blood.
---Or the one where Naruto crashes (quite literally) into a past that isn't his and not so smoothly tries to save it.
