Xie Lian and Hua Cheng got to know each other during college when they both worked part time at an art gallery, and have continued being friends even as Xie Lian continued as a grad student and Hua Cheng’s art career took off. Xie Lian’s crush for his friend has been growing ever since they first met, and he’s learned to live with it. It’s okay, as long as he gets to have Hua Cheng in his life - even if Hua Cheng will never feel the same way.
