The beginning of it all is such: Veritas, with his unending headache, and little wherewithal to deal with it— does the sensible thing and retreats to familiar, fond places to rest and recoup.
It is under his favorite apple tree, the one on his home planet he had practically grown up beside. This is where it happens. When he finds himself falling into a sea of calm, closing his eyes and merely letting his thoughts drift by and through him, the universe deigns to answer his question. The solution to his headache.

Summary
Veritas is sitting at an airport gate waiting for a flight when a man, who introduces himself as Kakavasha, asks if he can sit beside him while they wait for their delayed flight together. While Veritas is hesitant, he lets Kakavasha sit beside him, and whether he likes it or not, he gets to chatting with Kakavasha.
What could possibly come of talking for just a few short hours? Nothing, surely.

Polar opposites fall to a common page the more Ratio meets with Aventurine and he eventually realizes that he's willing to go down to dangerous depths with the other, just like the smoke Aventurine breathes in his lungs every day.
