In the event of John B. and Sarah's untimely deaths their child needs to be raised. Having both faith in them and a bit of a sense of humor they name both Rafe and Kiara as the guardians. Kiara wants it to be a strictly co-parenting thing as she is now grieving three lost friends. Rafe is cool with that but knows damn well that there's something more to them much to his girlfriend Sofia's dismay.
