Prowl is obsessed with keeping his Prime safe. Primus sought to give him a second chance, and he wouldn't waste it. He'd become a ruthless tactician and soldier to try and protect him from the horror of war. He'd become a confidant when Optimus hid himself from the others. He'd do anything for Optimus especially keep him hidden from Megatron.

“Do you know what it means to be here?” Megatronus's voice rumbled, loud enough for the audience to hear, but there was an intimate undertone that was meant solely for Orion as he came to a stop just before the hulking gladiator. “To see me claim victory. To see me… claim you?”
After a brutal and energon-soaked pit fight, Megatronus earns the right to mate and claim Orion Pax.

Summary
As Megatronus is led to the wooden scaffold where he and his closest followers would soon be put to death, he looks out into the crowd. One side is cheering for their downfall. The other is shouting for justice.
In the cheering crowd, he meets the glowing optics of the one he called beloved, his face stony and unreadable.
Megatronus has only a second to take that into consideration when the wall nearest him explodes, and the cheering crowd is left in shambles, but all he can do is stare at the rock that remains in the stormy river.
His Orion.

A tale as old as time. Orion Pax and Megatronus meet, again and again and again, but each iteration has them separating. Here, we take you back in time, where the Gladiator full of soft corners and gentle dreams meets the Archivist whose sharp tongue and even sharper intelligence keeps him safe behind a mask that no one else cares to look too deep underneath.
And in their dance across the stars, they leave a burning Council and a rebuilt Cybertron.
Oh, but that's skipping ahead. They haven't even met just yet.
