Midoriya knows what colors look like. No one believes him. Someone stole his colors. He knows this to be true. and He is going to get them back. One way or another. He's proven right when he sees a glimmer of red in his only friends eyes.

Humans are wonderous yet dubious and hypocritical creatures, prancing around with their gallivant ideals and rules.
Rule one: be born right
Rule two: learn our values
Rule three: don't break
Rule: four: continue the cycleWith mindsets so pure like that, is it really surprising they stop growing and learning at such an early age? Only true insight comes to the people from personal experience to guide them.
Not able to see the bigger picture -or even any picture really- to show true compassion and sympathy without going through the same suffering. no matter how hard they try to justify the contrary.
But Izuku saw people for what they were. And, with how insightful he was, why would he stick with the straight-and-narrow unbeaten path?
OR: in simpler, less broody undertones.
