Summary
The only word Bruce can come up with to describe the infected is feral. Human beings are driven by their innermost desires and fears, reduced to nothing but animal instinct. The infection robs one of their inhibitions. They revert to their core traits: greed, need, hate, fear, desire. The crazy become crazier; the self-haters kill themselves. Resentful parents throw their children off bridges or drown them in the bathtub. Enemies rush at each other’s throats with whatever weapons they can get their hands on.
No one can lie, no one can hide. No masks. No pretenses. It’s utter chaos.

Summary
Bruce Wayne adopts another kid. While this elects no surprise it certainly does cause exasperation. Lots of it. Exasperation escalates to slight alarm and definite horror when Bruce reluctantly admits that this one is biologically his. His, with the late Vicki Vale.
Bruce and Vicki's on and off again relationship in his youth is no secret but the product of this relationship, you, was until Vicki's will started that she had given you up for adoption 14 years ago. Bruce admits that he's known since her funeral and has been closely watching you.
He tells all of this to the gathered audience of his family, with you already sitting silently in the corner. They are, predictably, pissed at his lack of warning. Well, the ones present are. The other members of the Batclan will be soon enough as word travels.
(Aka: a shameless and unapologetic self-insert into the batfam because while I love the angsty fics I wanted some fluff, sprinkled with a healthy dollop of protective batfam.)
(Not entirely sure where this is going but I thought it'd be a hoot to plop a semi-normal person into the batfam and watch them interact with the neurotic, hyper-competent dumbass's that are the Batclan)

Summary
When Danny meets his parent's estranged college friend Vlad Masters and discovers he's not the only half-ghost, he starts to reflect on how keeping his ghost half a secret affects his relationships with his family. Now Danny's beginning to wonder if keeping this secret is worth it, especially as he sees how it's affected Vlad and his parents over the last two decades, but he's still not sure if telling them is worth the risk.
(Started out as a rewrite of Bitter Reunions where Vlad wasn't evil, and has now evolved into something out of my control. No idea if or when part 2 will come out, but part 1 leaves off in a narratively satisfying spot.)
