"For Crowley, who’s both a snake and demon (sneemon Sorry), imprints on Aziraphale the day they meet in Eden, and his snakey demon brain automatically thinks ‘MINE’ with capital letters. Crowley, being Crowley, spends 6,000 years doing his best to suppress thinking like this - because Aziraphale is his own person, he’s noble, etc. Though he feels proud when he’s able to do things like rescue him or do him favors because it scratches the ‘good mate’ itch he has.
He loves Aziraphale and would want nothing more to be his mate/husband, but he thinks the certain brand of possessiveness that comes with his mate drive is terrible/scary and that Aziraphale deserves better.
Eventually, it comes out in the present day and Aziraphale finds out that Crowley can’t help but consider them mates, and very thoroughly agrees because he is NOT offended by the possessiveness in the slightest, in fact, he encourages it. They get together quite rigorously."

Summary
“I want to make you happy, Crowley,” Aziraphale says, reaching across the miles that separate the wingback from the bookshop sofa, prying one of Crowley’s hands from his face and caressing it gently, “Always and forever, on our own side. And, if this is a fantasy you have, then I want to be able to provide it for you.”
Crowley coughs out a laugh, trying desperately not to cry as he takes Aziraphale’s hand in earnest, brings it to his lips and kisses the knuckles.
“Also it does sound like a rather fun time, I must say.” Aziraphale says with a wiggle.
“Angel, I swear to someone…” Crowley tries to regain his composure and pick his jaw up off the floor.

When Crowley discovers that Aziraphale has not groomed his wings since being in Hell, he demands that they end their celebration so Aziraphale can clean away the hell ash. Instead of letting him leave, Aziraphale asks Crowley for his help. What follows is perhaps the most intimate night of their relationship thus far.
