A sharp smell hit you, making your nose wiggle in your sleep. Subconsciously, you kicked your blanket off, feeling a strange heat covering you from head to toe. Beads of sweat formed on your forehead, and the rest of your skin was uncomfortably sticky.
It was a hot night, uncomfortably so, especially at the beginning of the winter season.
Then it hit you.
This was not just the typical warmth of your bed nor the heating of your apartment. God knew your landlord was way too much of a cheapskate to put the heating on a higher level. This was fire.
