Summary
Six months ago, when Derek left Spencer in Vegas following the end of the 'Judgment Maker' case, Spencer told himself that he would try hard to take Derek's advice and give them both some 'time' to figure out their feelings. But, now, Spencer's had just about enough of waiting. He may not have everything figured out, but the one thing he IS sure of is that his feelings for the agent haven't changed. So, Spencer comes to visit Derek in D.C. over the winter holidays, and lays his cards on the table. Will Derek be able to give Spencer what he wants, or does he think Spencer's idea of a 'happily ever after' is just a fantasy?

Summary
The thing is, despite what others may think and believe and assume, Tony is unhappy.
He has a lovely husband, yes, who spends all of his waking hours at the office instead of at home with his family. He has two children who look at him like he can fix everything in their world, yet they feel Steve's absence more and more each day, and Tony doesn't know how to fix that. And then, Tony meets Natasha Romanoff, one of Steve's colleagues, and he starts to realise exactly why his husband prefers not to come home anymore.
Despite this, Tony loves Steve, loves him enough that he's willing to ignore any indiscretions, if it means that his family will stay together and whole.
But when Tony's first love, James, also known as the most terrifyingly competent mass murderer in the world, the Winter Soldier, shows up after almost a decade, asking for his help to fight a terrorist organisation that Tony knows all too well, suddenly, keeping his family together and whole isn't as easy as he thought it would be, when it was just him who had to suffer.
Now, he's torn between the man that left but came back to him and the man who loves him but maybe not enough.
