Summary
Taking a bite of her hashbrowns as Trinity thinks, she admits, “I saw you and Langdon at the diner the other day.”
Mel doesn’t deny anything and says, “So that's how Garcia knew. She told Frank that you accused him of cheating on his wife. He denied it, of course. I don’t like that we have to lie to people.” She's not meeting Trinity's eyes, staring down at a water ring carved into the table, tracing it with her fingers.
What did Trinity even want out of this conversation? They were past the point of Trinity changing Mel's mind about Langdon, and she didn’t want to make Mel feel any more guilty than she already felt. Mel didn’t need someone to protect her. She just needed a friend.
“Do you want to talk about it?”Or Trinity learns to play nice with others. Well, at least she tries to.

Summary
She watches him strut around headquarters, trying to look confident and purposeful as he searches for a reason to be there—orbiting Mel, while being quietly consumed by something she isn't sure he has the cojones to face.
Trinity sighs, weighing her vendetta against Mel's happiness. She really is getting a martyr complex, just like the rest of these sick fucks.
(Kingdon, reluctantly witnessed and orchestrated by Trinity Santos, who kinda has her own thing going on and doesn't need this right now)

Summary
Mel cancels her therapist sessions the very next day, in the early hours of the morning after contemplating the whole night. She won’t need therapy anymore, because she already has a plan.
Mel is going to kill herself.
Now, this isn’t as simple as it sounds. She can’t just jump into the Allegheny on her way to work. She has to be smart about it, because there is one huge caveat: What is going to happen to Becca once she is gone? This is what Mel has been thinking about the entire night, and she has finally come up with a solution.
She needs to befriend Frank Langdon.
Or: Mel comes up with an insane plan and drags Frank along for the ride.

Summary
(Santos helps Langdon on a bad night. They have more in common than they'd like.)
“Are you two…?” he gestured at her. Trinity furrowed her brows, ready to call out the fake nice chit-chat he was seemingly trying to start. Then something clicked, she looked down to see him now fidgeting with his wedding ring, almost pulling it out. Her eyebrows raised and she scoffed. The nerve of this man, she thought, of course he wants Mel for himself, he wants everything. She took a drink of her glass, his remained untouched.
“Where's your wife?”
