Crowley groans as he snatches a glance at his bedside clock. 03:40. As much as he wants to go back to sleep, duty calls. Actually who’s calling is his boss. Now you may be thinking, ‘If my boss called me at 03:40 I would chuck my phone out the window and pray they fire me, because who wants to work with someone who’s going to call me that early’. Not that Crowley isn’t thinking this, no, he doesn’t enjoy running around in the dark throwing on his emergency gear and slapping himself awake, but when you’re part of search and rescue you have to be prepared for a late-night call from your boss who never seems to sleep."
Crowley is a Search and Rescue helicopter pilot, and Aziraphale guides him from the control tower. They've been best friends and coworkers for six years, and all it takes is one bad day for their carefully built walls to come crumbling down.

Summary
"The man stops in front of his table. He seems to be hesitating, but Aziraphale knows better. He’s torturing him. Drawing out his suffering before killing him for the bounty. The man’s dithering, of all things, rouses anger deep in Aziraphale’s gut. He looks up sharply. “Oh, just get it over with. I’m a dead man walking here.”
Tears are making their way traitorously down his face, but he refuses to die without a little bit of courage, doomed though he may be. He glares into the Mandalorian’s dark mask, it stares back, unfeeling and cold like the beskar it was forged from."
Aziraphale is a good Jedi, most of the time. So, when he messes up big time, his boss Gabriel, the head of the Jedi Council, hires The Mandalorian to take him out. It seems this mighty warrior has a soft spot for sad saps, and Aziraphale wins the lottery when it comes to bounty hunters.
