It’s not like there’s a handbook on how to be a good mentor, no ancient set of rules carved in stone for future generations to follow. No one teaches you how to do it. You just go with your gut and try to do what feels right.
There are no right answers.
And yet, Zanka was pretty damn sure that fucking your trainee on regular basis was definitely not part of the job description.

It was over. The gorgon had been slayed. Enjin finally had eyes for his son.
Zanka was a hero.
He was a god.

But somehow.. he felt like he’d lost alot more than he had gained.Or
Zanka and Rudo are Demi Gods, sons of Enjin.
They get tasked to kill a gorgon named Jabber on their father’s behalf.Zanka finds out the hard way that fighting the monster head on was not going to get him the outcome he needed.
So he gains Jabber’s trust instead.

Summary
Zanka wasn't sure when his days became so dull, when the line between routine and idling became one in the same. He remembers when he'd wake up energized each and every morning, ready for the day. Excited to go for a run before morning classes, pleased to read during his lunch, happy to study when he got home. Studying, training, working to get better, to make them proud. To prove he was worthy. It was good, it meant he was hard-working.
But he didn't feel those things anymore, excited, pleased, happy. He didn't know when he stopped feeling, maybe it was gradual. A slow, steady, descent into stillness. He didn't stop his routine, of course. He still worked hard, this position he held was important. Every A+ hanging off his neck like a medal, flashing so bright that others would shy away. The metaphorical crown carving grooves into his head was always supposed to be there, it never fell.
And maybe that's why Zanka's breath caught so hard when it finally slipped.
Or; Zanka meets a nice man while standing on the edge and relearns what it means to be alive, to have a real family, and fall in love.

Zanka’s not dumb enough to pretend that Jabber didn’t see the way his eyes flashed towards his pulse, sparking with hunger, mouth watering and his canines sharpening at the sight of the faint thrumming of blood through the veins lying just under Jabber’s skin.
“Didn’t know a vamp could make it as a Cleaner.” Jabber tilts his head, dreadlocks cascading down his face and breaking apart Zanka’s view of his piercing magenta eyes, his wolf tail almost wagging. “C’monn, mannn, ya can't tell me that you don’t wanna take a bite of me, hmm?”

Summary
Zanka Nijiku is a freshly graduated psychology student.
Fresh out of school, it is time for him to get his first real job as a psychologist.He takes on a job at a psychiatric hospital, where he gets assigned a key patient, a particularly difficult patient.
Jabber Wonger is this difficult patient.
Hes been in and out of the institution since very early on in his childhood.Upon meeting, they didn’t think much of eachother.
Zanka saw a challenge, not a person. A patient to help who others had claimed was unable to be helped.
And Jabber saw just another know it all doctor, who’d pretend to understand him and of all that bullshit.
But they couldn’t have been more wrong about eachother.
