Summary
It had been two years since the sun finally offered the beings on Earth a break from its powerful rays.
Society has continued to pull itself back together piece by agonizing piece, Visitors die off one by one, the population begins to rise once more after the devastating blow. The reporters on television claim this to be a revolution, proof of human resilience. They promise that the sun will never heat up again, that they won't rest until the planet is completely Visitor free. It's a time for hope. It's a time for cheer.
Yesenin found it moronic.
He returned to modern life, to his ways at the bar. He returned to endless hours at a desk and a continuously empty home. Life couldn't get any worse, quite frankly.
On a night he felt particularly bitter, however, he managed to strike up conversation with a man that felt similarly about the state of the world. His interest remained piqued as they conversed. But he failed to realize just what he was getting into until it was far too late.
Life could, surprisingly, get worse.

Summary
Gojyo has accepted the fact that there isn't much that can be done about his flashy new marking. There's no use in worrying endlessly over what will eventually come to be, a fair synopsis he'd think everyone could agree with.
Annoyingly enough, Hakkai doesn't seem to think so. The man resorts to fretting over it like it had appeared on his own body, directing entirely too much attention towards it.
So, Gojyo makes an attempt to quell Hakkai's worry.

Summary
Sanzo is stubborn, unusually so.
It's far from rare for the priest to have an abundance of wounds inflicted on him during battles, and if Hakkai doesn't catch the wounds and resolve them in a reasonable time frame, Sanzo will never breathe a word of needing healing. He thinks he's sly in hiding his pain, but Hakkai can always tell. Maybe to the other two he seemed fine, but Hakkai is observant.
Unfortunately, Hakkai couldn't force Sanzo into accepting his help. If the agony was too great, Sanzo would come to him. He had to trust that.
Sanzo never had come to him, though. Not once.
But he supposes there's a first to everything.
