Summary
There are five stages of grief.
Yoo Joonghyuk is stuck on denial, Jung Heewon blazes with anger, Han Sooyoung and Yoo Sangah have already begun bargaining, and the kids are sinking into depression. But none are ready for acceptance.
To journey into the underworld, to descend with nothing but a fervent hope of bringing your loved one back to life… is an insane idea. But right now, Yoo Joonghyuk will entertain even insanity if it brings back Kim Dokja.
Or, in which the KimCom are ride or die, and this has consequences.
73rd Demon King | Tenth Scenario AU.
“And yet,” he said, scorn in his voice, “you still said it to me. Let’s meet again… cruel hope, Kim Dokja, utterly cruel when—when we all knew what your fate proclaimed.”
His mind blanked. Fate? What did his fate—
「 Incarnation Kim Dokja will be killed by the person he loves most. 」
—ah.
That fate.
“Tell me, you fool,” Yoo Joonghyuk said, quietly, desperately. “Were you going to leave me with that realisation forever?”

Summary
The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

Grian is a vet. After a chance encounter in the dead of night, during which he accidentally saves a villain from the brink of death, he suddenly finds himself entangled in a world beyond anything he could've ever imagined.

Summary
The crypt yawns open in front of him, wide and gaping. A maw into the depths of the earth that threatens to swallow him whole, if he would only let it. Avid stares at it, down the throat to hell, and it stares right back at him, mocking with its gap-toothed smile, leering at him from the ragged hillside.
Only yesterday he'd bounded into that place with a reckless abandon he can no longer summon, lost laughter bubbling in his chest. A high that had buoyed him along and kept him firmly on the top of the world.
He sits at the bottom of the world now, shoes scraping through the gravedirt underfoot as he scuffs his way along, firmly grounded and left to rot as others take to the skies on skin-thin wings.

Summary
"What is that."
"Um." He blinks once, twice and looks away before the third one. Unable to stand how Scott watches him, unblinking in his intensity. "A nest?" Scott's irritation doesn't wane with his answer, if anything — if possible — it only grows stronger. "My nest?" He tries instead.
He looks back into the corner he had claimed as his, a good few feet from his bed and tucked cosily into the corner, safe. The bed he had been gifted, in all its bare-mattressed glory, sat squarely in the centre of the room, exposed on all sides. His nest had walls all around, nestled comfortably where they converged, right in the junction so he can push himself back into the wall and feel secure. Surrounded on all sides and eyes on the door, comforted, even if it's nothing but cold, unfeeling brick.
"That," Scott spits, no small amount of venom in his voice, "is not a nest."

Summary
Avid’s throat felt raw from screaming, though he hadn’t been, not anymore, at least. His heart still felt as if it was home to a wooden stake. He felt the aching hunger, body still thinking he was dead, still thinking he needed to be healed.
But he didn’t.
Because he was alive. Avid was alive and he didn’t know how. He knew he was still a vampire, he could feel it in his very being, could feel the desperate hunger as if he’d never been satiated by a single drop of blood. But he was just outside of Oakhurst. An Oakhurst that was empty.
Empty and as though no one had ever stood foot in there, no sign of the people that had come to Oakhurst at the same moment as Avid.
Or…
