“We were playing bionic tag,” Chase started, straightening to his full height of 3’5”. “And I jus’ was thinking about what you said to us about Einstein, about how gravity bends space?”
Donald felt his eyebrows rise. “Okay…?”

Arthur lifted his mug, but did not drink. His gaze was set on the fire. “He’s dead then?” he asked, voice matter-of-fact.
Kai glanced down, hand coming to rest on the hilt of the axe in his belt. Its blade now carried a small chip: a remnant of it being stuck in the tree. “Mark was going to run me through,” he said after a quiet moment. “The Saxon took the blade for me.”
He wasn’t sure Roland had meant to.
