Due to a transporter accident, Garak is switched with his counterpart from another universe. A universe where the wormhole doesn't exist, no one has ever heard the word "Dominion", and Garak was never exiled from Cardassia. Instead, he's a Legate. And happily married to one Mr. Julian Garak.
Suffice to say, the Alternate Garak takes the transition about as well as he can. The supposedly straight as an arrow Dr. Julian Bashir...not so much.

My take on what season five could have looked like, except I'm not a coward like Brannon Braga and Rick Berman. Also I blatantly ignore some established canon.
“The Imperial Guard and Starfleet have been in talks,” continued Shran. “I’m sure you know of them. They recently decided that during this time of heightened tension, there should be a liaison of sorts, aboard a Starfleet vessel. Since I have a history of working well with humans, Starfleet requested me. The Imperial Guard was happy to meet their request.”“I see,” said Jon, which vessel would Shran be aboard? He couldn’t help thinking that they would stop accidentally running into each other if he was on a different Starfleet vessel. “What ship will they put you on?”
Shran's antennae curled in slightly and he stared at Jon, his face incredulous. Jon glanced at T’Pol who had her lips pursed and an eyebrow raised. Jon frowned, what- oh!
“Of course,” he said. “You’ll be serving on Enterprise.”
“If you’ll have me, pinkskin,” said Shran, his smile back in place.

She trains him to the best of her abilities, shaping him into a dangerous, intelligent and powerful wizard.
But when Britain re-establishes the Triwizard Tournament, and Harry, now known as Hadrian, is forced to return to his once-home, he finds himself questioning whether he really wants to kill the Dark Lord. Voldemort finds an unexpected challenge in the child, and as his intrigue and amusement grows, so too does the desire to possess the spark in those defiant green eyes.
